Emma becomes attracted to a vampire who saves her from bleeding out on a beach in the middle of the night. As their romantic relationship progresses, Emma is asked by her vampire girlfriend Laurie to paint a portrait of her. However, this task has proven to be one of Emma's most difficult pieces. Emma must lose her innocence and allow the darkest parts of herself to take control of her mind to be able to portray the portrait with accuracy. 'Death Is a Handsome She' is a dark fantasy short-story that draws a fine line between being afraid of death or falling in love with 'her.'
